Train Up a Child

My youngest daughter, Anna,  asked Jesus into her heart in July of 1993 at the tender age of 8 and grew in His knowledge and grace.

At the age of 12, Anna was taken from this world by a merciful God Who did not allow her to suffer too greatly with the cancer that devastated her whole body.  We have not lost, Anna, however, we know exactly where she is.

While I greatly mourn and grieve her departure, I rejoice and thank the Lord daily for allowing Anna to know Him as her personal Saviour.  I am equally grateful that I too am a blood bought, born again, child of the King and as such will be reunited with not only Anna but all our other brethren in Christ.

Now, as I look at the obituaries of our daily newspapers and see so many names of children, I cannot help but think of the parents, their pain, their helplessness, their despair and how much greater many times over this must be to those who have no knowledge of the saving Grace of God through our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I do pray for you who do not know Jesus as your personal Saviour, whether or not  your children are alive, that you might see your need for Christ; that you might see the need your children have for Christ.  And for those that already know the Lord, I pray that His Peace, His Comfort and His Promises might be very, very real to you.
